Description

On the eve of his 90th birthday, eccentric, celebrated thespian Morris Applebaum (Peter Falk) summons his three grown children to his Manhattan apartment for a festive shindig no one will ever forget. Because when the party's over, Morris plans to take his "final exit". No, he's not ill or unduly depressed; he just wants to go out the way he's lived: on his own terms. Now it's up to his hilariously angst-ridden offspring to put aside their own excess baggage and convince Morris that it ain't over till the fat lady sings!

Summary: "low end , low budget and poor direction"

in this genre you are typically looking for "Juno" and "Little Miss Sunshine" - I watched these movies and laughed and cried - so I rented "checking out" - it was a complete dissapointment - low budget movies typically depend on very igh quality acting and good use of the camera and none is present here. May be the adaptation from the stage version has been very poor - it seems they are still on the stage and not really doing a movie.I will not recommend it

Summary: "Very Funny"

I liked every minute of this movie.
It made me remeber "Noises OFF" because of the fast pace and the continuous laughing it provokes.
I do recomend.

Summary: "Fantastic!"

This film reminded me what a well written and acted film looks like. If you love smart dialogue and comedy, this is your kind of movie. I wish more films were this good.
If you liked this film, I suggest that you see "When Do We Eat".
